How we “play”…..

Posted by quirksalight on January 19, 2007

In the February issue of Marie Claire and Esquire magazines, the results of their joint sex poll were published, and can be seen here, and here. The oddest thing about this poll was the CNN coverage (Anderson Cooper 360, 1/15/2007) on it. Maybe it was a slow newsday, but I don’t really expect to see an informal, unscientific, probably self-selecting (to a certain degree), sex poll on CNN. But that’s just me. 😛 (note: methodology comment at the end is from esquire.com)

Some of the poll results are expected: I mean, are you really surprised that men masterbate nearly twice as much per week more than women? However, I did find this rather amusing: “Republicans prefer their partners’ pubic hair to be all natural, while Democrats prefer a trim…. and Republicans use text messaging to initiate sex more often than Democrats.”
But the best part was the letters. Read here.
I haven’t been able to find the flipside online yet.

[Methodology: This survey was conducted exclusively for Esquire and Marie Claire magazines by Beta Research Corporation, an independent firm located in Syosset, New York. The 1,738 respondents were randomly selected and are a representative national sample of American men and women ages 21 to 49. They completed the online survey between October 24, 2006, and November 1, 2006. Because of rounding, some percentages may not add up to 100.]
