That’s it… I’m moving to Cali….

Dating sucks for the ladies on the east coast, and here’s proof why.

This map was published in the February 2007 issue of National Geographic, showing the ratio of single women to men across the major metropolitation regions of the United States. Now please note that the northeast corridor of the US (DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, NYC, Boston), has the highest concentration of single women. But what’s interesting that as you go west, the ratios go the other way, with single men outnumbering the women.
What was very amusing about the west coast was that the major techie regions (Seattle, Silicon Valley) were the regions where the ratios were greatly skewed to single men. Coincidence? 😛

If this survey is correct then I should be having all kinds of luck in SW Ohio. The numbers on the survey don’t seem to ever translate to what is going on in real life. If I am outnumbered here in my area the question becomes “where are all the single women hanging out”. That has been my greatest challenge. I think your comic is correct. If the odds are good it may mean the goods are odd.

  2. Hahaha…. that’s pretty much what most people are saying to me from across the US…if that ratio is true, I’m not seeing it. And yes, the quote does go both ways.
Single women tend to move in groups when we’re out and about, and often time, we’re out to have fun with our gal pals, not to meet guys. (Though I’m speaking in my POV)
